Interactive Art

Interactive objects from my time in the DXARTS program at the University of Washington — a dollhouse that watches you, a radio that turns on you, a dragon in a tent. Strange machines, built to reward a closer look, and presented here mostly without explanation.

The Enchanted Dollhouse

A dollhouse that opens its door when you look at it correctly, revealing a secret garden with music. Approach it wrong, and the door slams. When it reopens, the room is empty.

The Cathedral Radio

A 1920s cathedral radio that warmly plays old tunes, until it's touched once too often. What happens after that takes about ninety seconds, involves a man in a crisp blue suit, and is easier to watch than to describe.

Magic Dwarf Rock

A stone with a golden disk and three runes. Turn them into the right combination and a dwarf appears. Most people never find it.

The Doom Teller

A fortune-telling machine that reads your future and offers only bad news. There was always a line.

Homeless Dragon

A dragon who lives in a tent and breathes smoke.

The Code Box

A panel of buttons, lights, and switches that does nothing useful. Solving it doesn't give you an answer. It gives you fog.
